An email address is always marked as spam by gmail, and it’s so annoying, right?
There’s a marketing professional from another company with whom we do business, and for some reason (probably because her email account has been flagged for spam in the past) her emails are always marked as spam in our company email accounts (we use Google Apps for Work).
Even after finding her email in the spam folder and x’ing out of the spam label, her emails still went to spam.
I even added her to my Google Contacts and that didn’t help either.
While you should do both of these things, there’s one solution that works 100% of the time, and it’s not hard to do at all!
If you don’t know about filters, well, this is going to change how you use Google Mail (Gmail) forever. Keep reading…
Here’s a step by step guide to making sure emails from a particular email address are never marked as spam again
1 – When logged into gmail, click the gear icon on the right, toward the top of the page.
2 – Choose “Filters and Blocked Addresses” from the tabs.
3 – Choose “Create a new filter” on the bottom of the screen.
4 – In the popup, enter the email address of the person who keeps getting caught by your spam in the “From” field, then click “Create filter with this search.”
5 – In the popup, make sure “Never send it to spam” is checked, then click “Create filter.” Additionally, you can bring all past emails from that email address out of the spam filter into your inbox by checking “Also apply filter to X matching conversations.”
And that’s it! It’s so easy to do, and it works every time! So, if an email address is always marked as spam by gmail, follow these steps and the problem will be solved.
